Fusion Students: More than just student accommodation

Welcome to our virtual consultation exhibiting Fusion Students’ proposals to provide over 500 new, high-quality student rooms in the heart of Manchester’s City Centre.

Specialist student accommodation developer and operator, Fusion Students, is announcing plans to deliver its first development in Manchester, on land off Deansgate South and the A56 Bridgewater Viaduct. Fusion Students is looking to transform the vacant, brownfield site into a distinctive 27-storey building. Fusion Students’ proposals will provide much-needed student accommodation alongside high-quality amenity and social spaces for future residents.

Prior to submitting a planning application, Fusion Students carried out an extensive consultation process, once which avoided face-to-face interaction and focussed on digital and print formats, in line with current government guidance.

As part of the consultation process, Fusion Students held a virtual exhibition through their dedicated consultation website. The local community and stakeholders were informed on how and when to access the virtual exhibition via newsletters sent to local addresses and press coverage in local and regional outlets.

The virtual exhibition closed on Tuesday 17 November 2020. We want to thank everyone who took the time to get involved, ask questions and shared their views with us. Having taken onboard the feedback received, we have now submitted a planning application to Manchester City Council, which we expect to be determined in the coming months.
